Miguel’s journey into leadership and the world of technology and insurance is a testament to his resilience and innate talent. In that pivotal moment, he discovered his extraordinary ability to inspire and mobilize individuals towards accomplishing monumental tasks. Prior to founding FiveM Consulting, Miguel held esteemed positions in the insurance industry, including Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at the Pan-American Life Insurance Group. He also served as Chief Information Officer at Kemper Life & Health Insurance, a subsidiary of Kemper Corporation, and as Vice President of Strategy & Operations at Allstate. Throughout his tenure at these prestigious organizations, Miguel consistently demonstrated a unique leadership style that drove substantial accomplishments and guided large groups of individuals through complex challenges.
Miguel’s commitment to education is equally noteworthy. He holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration, underlining his dedication to academic excellence. In recognition of his exceptional leadership skills, he was selected as a 2018 Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago and honored as a Chicago United 2019 Business Leader of Color. His contribution to the insurance technology landscape was further celebrated when he received the 2016 Insurance Technology Association Bridge Award.
Beyond his illustrious career, Miguel Edwards also shares his wealth of knowledge as a graduate adjunct professor, mentoring the next generation of leaders. Coaching and mentoring mid to senior level executives on leadership and strategy is another way Miguel is expanding his reach and helping others thrive in their own ventures. Understanding the importance of balancing work with family life, Miguel finds joy in cooking for his loved ones and indulging in EDM concerts on the weekends.
